What do you believe about who God is? Where did you get those ideas? From your parents? Your friends? Your preacher? Teacher? The Bible? Think about it . . .who do the people around you say God is? What is popular opinion saying? Who, then, do you say God is? Ask yourself, "Who do I say God is?"

Do you have it correct? Could you be listening to mankind rather than God? Consider allowing God to uproot your belief system or parts of it and
give you the truth in place of any fallacies you have created or formed.

Wow! So many ways of getting it wrong. How similar is the God He says He is to the God you say He is? . . . the God your actions say He is? Have we made God in our own image?
First, we must KNOW. . . not think, or reason, or hope, . . . who God Says He is. So, how do we get what He says? Two ways: through His Word (the Bible) and His deed (as we experience it and as He describes it in His Word.)
"I am the Lord,
and there is no other. . .
I, the Lord, speak the truth;
I declare what is right." (Isa. 45:18-19)

God knows who He is and no amount of intellectualism can make any difference in defining Him. In other words, we can believe He is or is not whoever or whatever we wish, but that does not change who He is.
- I am the Lord., . . ..(Gen. 15:7
- I am God Almighty . . .. (Gen. 17:1)
- I AM WHO I AM.. . .(Exod.3:14)
- I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, . . .. Exod. 3:6
There is no way in reality for us to tell each other who God is. Any human definition or description is bound to understate Him. We must be about finding out for ourselves who He is. Our eternal destinies are dependent on it, yes, but so is our earthy destiny! Evidence abounds in scripture.
For example, when Christ asked his disciples,
". . . Who do you say I am?"
Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ,
the Son of the Living God." (Matt.16: 15-16)
From there, Christ blessed Peter, gave him a prominent role
in the building of His church, and told him he would have the keys of the kingdom. Not only that, but Christ told him,
". . . whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful)
on earth must be what is already bound in heaven; and
whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what
is already loosed in heaven. (Matt 16:19 Amplified Bible)

God has a perfect plan for our lives and has stored up blessings for us which He wants us to loose by our faith.
“How great is your goodness, which you have stored up
for those who fear (reverently obey) you, which you
bestow in the sight of men.” (Ps. 31:19)
“. . . in the sight of men.” Does that sound like a promise intended for heaven only? Not to me. I want what God has stored up for me. Do I want it badly enough to bind my own unbelief in the name of Jesus and get a new faith to loose here on earth? Scary. But with God’s help, YES! God is who He says He is. I can do all things through Christ!
A man doesn't know what he knows until he knows what he doesn't know.
