As long as my studio is messed up with roof repairs, I might as well read a new book. And what a thrillling new book I've found! My most favorite kind -- a book of art by lots of other artists. Did you know that Someguy has published a book of art journal pages selected from the 1000 Journals Project?

(The book on top of some of my art. Book cover image by Linda Zacks.)
It's great fun to read through and see all the great journaling eye candy. Even the endcovers are tiny thumbnails of journal pages:

I recognized some of the identified artists:

Spread by Juliana Coles

Four spreads by different artists. Lower left by Melissa McCobb Hubbell.
Other artists I recognized were Julie Sadler, Aisling D'Art, Tracy V. Moore, and Teesha Moore. Two artists I discovered who will no doubt be new favorites for me are this book's cover artist, Linda Zacks and Erin Elizabeth Partridge. Erin's book, Little Black (art)Book, was published this month and is available here. Her art can also be seen here.
You probably already know that Someguy has opened another project, the 1001 Journal Project, which includes journals that anyone can start and document on his site. An artist can start a traveling journal, a location journal (the journal stays in one spot and artists go to it to participate), or a personal journal. Journals can be public, private, or by invitation only. Check out the possibilities and see some of the art already done in the journals at the 1001 Journal Project site.
I highly recommend this brand new book, the 1000 Journals Projectespecially if you are interested in ideas for visual journaling. The book includes many of the most extraordinary, moving, fun, and creative pages from all the journals documented so far in the first project. The cover and two of the pages even have actual sewing on them!
Oh I can see this will be a must have for me! Thanks for sharing!
