(Warning -- long post and probably boring unless you are faimily or are curious about us!)
My mom, Dorothy and her sister, Virginia's, son Tommy
My cousin Tommy was kind enough to bring his photography gear to the family Christmas dinner and made some great photos of the participants in the event. For the benefit of my family I'm posting them here for all to see.
(Only missing his gorgeous wife, Stacy who was home sick as a dog with flu. Poor little gal.)
This is more like how we usually look - my head in the iPhone, Korie watching me, and Carly doing the social butterfly thing. . . even Kade and Jerry who are always on the lookout for the photo op, smilling for the camera!
I can't stand it -- Just let me quickly run back to a baby shower Stacy attended so I can at least show you a picture of her even though she missed out on Christmas Day. (I stole the photo from Lois's FB page.)
There now you have a face with the name. Whew. (Stacy, we really missed you Christmas Day.)
OK, on with the Christmas Show!
Now, my brothers' families.
This is Jack, Jr.'s family. Left to right, Jacquelyn(daughter), Jake (grandson), Millie (wife), Doug (son), and Stacy (son-in-law.) Aren't they pretty?
Here is more of them (Click on any picture to see a larger version.):
And now my little brother Jim's family:
Left to right, Lauren (younger daughter), Linda (wife), Jim, Kim (older daughter), Lisa (GIL), Rodney (son) Aren't they pretty? And - hey, they are colorful, too!
That's all of them except Kim's three children, Nick, Ashley, and Amanda who were having Christmas with their dad's family. (We missed you guys.)
Here are some more pictures of Jim's family. Click on any to see them better.
This is Lisa, the GIL and one of the dogs.
What's the matter? Never heard of a GIL, "Girlfriend-in-law"? Now, that's a long-term relationship!
This is more like those fun-loving Connells!
So now more pictures from the rest of the family:
This is Mom reading the antique victorian scrapbook that my late great=aunt, Aunt Ruth, made for Millie. Millie is good to always display it at Christmas. Aunt Ruth gave me and Linda one, too back when -- but where are they now?
Oh, I took a few pics with my way cool iPhone:
Jacquelyn took a cute pic of me and Jake - I mean, me and Spy Guy!
See more of Jackie's photos from the day here.
At one point during the gaeity, Mom called me over and told me she had a song going over and over in her mind. It was a WWI ditty that my granddad used to sing. She sang it to me very quietly. (I didn't remember it.) After that I noticed that she called over several others -- one at a time, very quietly -- and sang it to them, too.
A little later, I heard Mom call to Jack across the room, "Jack, come here a minute." Then I heard Jack say with his unimitable dry wit as he started towards her, "You're not going to sing to me again are you?"
Mom and I cracked up.
(Photo by Tommy. Thanks again, Tommy, for all the photos.)
Sure hope your Christmas was as Merry as ours and that you have a
Happy New Year!
